a burning bush

You might remember the story of Moses. I reread it the other day as I was preparing for my ‘Through the Bible in One Year’ class … a commitment I decided to make this year, made easier as my dad just happens to be teaching it.
It had been a while, and I believe that certain [...]

I just do.

One of the tools of surviving a military deployment is selective memory.
My mom was telling me about something she heard on the radio the other day. The story involved a woman who was a single parent to her six month old baby and how difficult it was to simply get her trash out to the [...]

16 years later.

Good times! A couple photos of Nate and I. It’s way too late for me to blog now, but I’m getting to it … promise!

old friends

About eight boxes and a sore back later …

Welcome!

I'm Rachel - mom, wife, youth minister, and student! I'm also a deployment survivor! My husband, Brian, is an OEF veteran and returned in June 2007 from Afghanistan. This blog has followed Grace and I while we made our way here at home ... and still now as we all adjust to being a family again and prepare for another deployment in 2009. Thanks for reading!
