A-OK

You might remember Grace had a bad infection about a month and a half ago. Today she had the two tests the doctor recommended to rule out any genetic reason for the infection. The bad news is that it was a very hard day for Grace. The second test involved a catheter and laying still [...]

swimming

Grace and I have spent a lot of time alone together. I guess we can read each other’s moods because we often have the same expression in photos. We went swimming with Daddy yesterday at the pool. It was Grace’s first time. The water was absolutely freezing but she loved it! She started slow and [...]

run down

We went to the Rose Garden the other day. There are a bunch of new pics, so go take a look. It was our first picnic as a family! These are the kinds of things that I really missed doing with Brian while he was gone (in Iraq and in Singapore too for that matter!). [...]

He’s here!

Congratulations to J and Charlotte. Creighton Elijah Townsley was born today, July 24th, 2005. 1:58 PM? He was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20.5 inches. This is all by Brian’s memory, so I hope that I am right. We can’t wait to get to know our nephew!

two more milestones…

some more results

When I first started this in mid-May, I got extremely motivated and averaged [...]

tired

Not only is Brian – I’m sure – totally exhausted but for some reason I am too! He has been going nonstop since he got home. Tonight at his course they did some night-shooting, so it is 10:20 PM, and he still isn’t home. He is burning the candle at both ends.
And now that Grace [...]

new photos

I just added a whole bunch of pics so be sure to look at them!

Welcome!

I'm Rachel - mom, wife, youth minister, and student! I'm also a deployment survivor! My husband, Brian, is an OEF veteran and returned in June 2007 from Afghanistan. This blog has followed Grace and I while we made our way here at home ... and still now as we all adjust to being a family again and prepare for another deployment in 2009. Thanks for reading!
