life

I don’t have a whole lot to talk about… just life!
We are doing well. I realize I have been quieter since Brian has gotten home. That is mostly because I no longer have the computer to myself! That has been a big adjustment for me!
It has been a quiet week. We haven’t [...]

support our troops

You might want to check out this new website, particularly the ‘how you can help’ link. I haven’t had a chance to look through all of it yet, but the President challenged Americans in his speech this evening to find a way to support our troops this July 4th. I intend to do so and [...]

weekend update

It has been a very busy weekend!
On Friday night, I had a party for Brian – a welcome home / birthday party. We had about twenty-five people I’d say. It was a really good turnout. I got too much to drink, so now we have all of these sodas to drink up (and few [...]

Gracie’s Doctor’s Appointment
I forgot to update you about Grace’s doctor’s appointment. One of my three loyal readers asked how it went! We got the test results back today, and her infection is all gone. Yea! She still has to get two tests, however, to see if there is anything internally that caused it. Those tests [...]

He’s home!

He’s baaaack!
I picked up Brian late Sunday night at 10 PM. We didn’t get home til midnight due to the airline losing his luggage! He had an exhausting trip from Jordan to Chicago, but at least there was a couple movies to take his mind off of the rude lady next to him. It was [...]

twelve hours and counting

Well, this is it! Only… twelve hours til Brian gets home.
I went to bed at 9:30 last night and Grace slept until 4 AM! Wow, that was a nine hour stretch, allowing me to get a lot of sleep in before all the waking up begins. She then slept til 7 AM so [...]

sicky

Short post:
I have been sick all day and last night too… even had a fever. I’m not sure if I do tonight because I have to let the ice cream wear off first. Actually, it didn’t taste that good at all. I haven’t had an appetite today.
Poor Grace, I sure hope she doesn’t [...]

milestone

My sore throat is real, it’s not from allergies. Ugh. It’s been hurting all day. I hope it is gone by the morning. I don’t have a fever or anything.
Grace reached a milestone today! She sat up by herself from the laying down position. She has only been working on this a few days, and [...]

Welcome!

I'm Rachel - mom, wife, youth minister, and student! I'm also a deployment survivor! My husband, Brian, is an OEF veteran and returned in June 2007 from Afghanistan. This blog has followed Grace and I while we made our way here at home ... and still now as we all adjust to being a family again and prepare for another deployment in 2009. Thanks for reading!
