“Daddy’s on TV!”

Yes, yes, I know, I know. I haven’t blogged in FOREVER. Well, you can lecture me later!
The reason I’m back is to say that Brian is at AT (annual training) in Idaho for three weeks, and he was interviewed on the local news last Friday. The clip is short, but big thanks to Pat Dooris [...]

Deployed for Christmas

family life after deployment

Here is a link to an article my mom sent me. It contains great information about welcoming home your soldier after deployment.

7 days til reunion

I made this video for Brian for our eighth anniversary in [...]

(I did some writing last night. I thought you might like to read this.)

I packed up a household and moved
I lost a size and a half
My hair began its serious effort to turn gray
I turned thirty … and then thirty-one
I taught myself to use a drill and install blinds

Welcome!

I'm Rachel - mom, wife, youth minister, and student! I'm also a deployment survivor! My husband, Brian, is an OEF veteran and returned in June 2007 from Afghanistan. This blog has followed Grace and I while we made our way here at home ... and still now as we all adjust to being a family again and prepare for another deployment in 2009. Thanks for reading!
